Marcus Troy's Thoughts on "Your Team"

We all know the popular phrase there is no I in Team but as much as a team can help you win they can also help you lose.
I’ve seen people who’ve had the potential to be great, fail because of who they had on their team.
The easiest way for this to happen is when you have people on your team misrepresenting you in public, sometimes this happens without your knowledge. They think they are doing you a favor but in reality they are doing you a disservice. Whether they’re trying to secure deals for you that you would not authorize, committing to things that you wouldn’t approve  of or simply just being the wrong person you need speaking on your behalf.
A lot of business deals have gone down the drain because of who was on someone’s team. A lot of my peers won’t do business with someone unless they know exactly who is on a team. When you are young and naïve you might not think about who needs to be on your team, you usually just roll with the people you’ve been around with your whole life. Sometimes you have to switch it up and strategically decide who you want to be around you, especially if you want to be successful.
The latest example I can share with you guys is about this artist who has great potential to make it but his team is hurting him beyond belief without him even knowing it. The guys he hangs around with want him to win so bad that they are aggressively pushing and bombarding everyone with the artists work. People are really starting to get fed up with these tactics so they are starting to hate said artist. The artist never really did any wrong  except have a bad team representing him. People always end up hating the product not the sales guy.
A team can be the guys you hang around with, your family members, the people you choose to do business with it or just the people others perceive to be down with you.
Remember that scene in Carlito’s way when Carlito’s nephew was out in the streets misrepresenting by saying how Carlito wanted to get back into the game, but it was not true? Well we all know how that scene ended…
So I suggest you be careful who you have pushing for you, which people you keep in your corner, and who you have representing you in the streets. It can really make the big difference in your life.

Stars like Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz have been sporting Christian Louboutin's Fall/Winter 2010 shoe collection. There was a large amount of buzz during last years debut of their sneaker line. Currently they are leaning towards loafers and boots. Anyone who wears these have a lot of balls. @OGOchoCino has been twit picing his collection for the past couple of weeks, not surprised Christian Louboutin's are on his shoe rack!

KanYe West Presents G.O.O.D. Fridays: Will Drop A New Song Every Week

G.O.O.D shit..Kanye seems HUNGRY

old school

"...Honestly, I don't know how much longer I have in this game. I'm always going to love hip-hop. But how much longer am I going to still do it? I couldn't give you an answer. But the day that this is not better than the last will probably be the day I stop...I do love it so much. But even if I was rapping at 50 [years old], I don't now if I would put it out. I know it always makes me feel better to lay things to tape, and--'Lay the tape.' See, I'm old school. The fans might say the sh*t is garbage. You don't know how long people are going to want you around...Realistically, if I don't rap, what the f*ck am I going to do? It's too late to be unfamous at this point."

John Legend & The Roots ft. Common & Melanie Fiona – Wake Up Everybody

Musical powerhouses John Legend & The Roots are presenting fans with a fiery new offering, Wake Up! The upcoming CD, being released by Sony Music on September 21, 2010, will feature soulful music from the 60’s and 70’s all with an underlying theme of awareness, engagement and consciousness— effectively telling listeners to Wake Up!

After being inspired by the recent historical Presidential election campaign of 2008, the R&B singer Legend and hip-hop band The Roots felt a need to enter the action. What started as plans for a single quickly developed into a passionate album representing change, hope and activism— not only referencing one particular moment in time, but on a larger scale, holding true no matter what the political climate may be.

Travis Barker "Solo" Album; a collaboration worth listening to

It has been said that Travis will come out with an album this fall, most likely September if we're lucky. I am looking forward to see him shine and to broaden his music ability. As well as drumming on the album, he will also produce all of the tracks. The most exciting part of these rumors are the star-studded line up he has working with him on this album. Some of the participants are Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake, T.I., Game, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, Bun B, Rick Ross, Clipse, the list goes on. He wants to make a music video highlighting each and every artist & their specific track.

A Floating Pool In New York

+ Pool is an initiative by a group of architects and designers to build a floating pool in the rivers of New York City… and they need your help. The project was launched with the ambition to improve the use of the city’s natural resources by providing a clean and safe way for the public to swim in New York’s waters. This site is the culmination of Concept Design for + Pool and they are looking to build a team of interested organizations and professionals to continue the development of the project into a buildable proposal.

Their next step is to partner with local cultural, developmental and environmental groups to raise public and private interest, identify civic potential and approach the municipality, while working with engineers, planners and specialists to refine the social and ecological performance of + Pool.

Honey Magazine Interviews Wiz Khalifa (Parts 1 & 2)

"Many great things come from the H-Town Sneaker Summit when such a large and diverse group of people collide with one common interest, sneakers. The latest of which happens to be when one of this seasons special guests, Nick Diamond of Diamond Supply Co. bumped heads with the Summer ’10 event flyer model MC Barao. Intrigued by MC’s tee shirt cutting skills Nick gave her an unreleased sample of his upcoming ‘Cool To Be Me’ tee and asked her to see what she could do with it. The attached photos are the outcome. Be on the look out for the new Diamond Supply Co. ‘Cool To Be Me’ tee to drop in it’s entirety in the Spring of 2011, but in the meantime you can see more of MC Barao at

'Entourage' Ending In 2011, Movie Possible

HBO series "Entourage" will go off the air in 2011.
The network said during the Television Critics' Association press tour Saturday that "next summer will definitely be the final season" of "Entourage."
The show's eighth and final season is expected to be an abbreviated one, possibly even just six episodes long.
But it may not be the end of the series; like prior HBO hit series "Sex and the City," "Entourage" may be heading for the big screen.
"[Series creator Doug Ellin] clearly wants to write a film but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story," HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said. "We have a long-term relationship with Doug Ellin, and I'm sure you'll soon see another series from him here."
